To apply, your degree (doctorate) should not have been awarded more than 10 years ago, or alternatively, you should have received your license to practice medicine no more than 13 years ago. The DZD Young Talent Program awards fundings for a postdoc position under your supervision. Therefore, you should have sufficient experience in supervision of scientific personell. The postdoc project should contribute to the creation of an indepentent scientific identity of our research group. So the topic should differ significantly from well established work in the insitute. If you have questions concerning your eligibility, you may consult the DZD NEXT project manager (herrmann@dzd-ev.de) prior to application.
No, a scientist can only once be supported by the DZD Young Talent Program.
Yes, you can apply a second time with a revised project proposal. Please note, however, that applicants with below-average evaluated proposals will be barred from reapplying in the next call period.
The project should be planned for and carried out by a postdoc. A postdoc in your lab offers greater expertise, independence, and productivity compared to a PhD student. They typically require less training, can mentor others, and contribute more quickly to high-level projects, enhancing your lab's output and reputation.
No. The funds have to be spend until the end of the funding period. We advise you to publish the job advertisement as soon as you get the DZD YTaP acceptance letter. Please share the job ad also with us, we help you in distributing it in our channels. If you face any problem, contact us as early as possible via next@dzd-ev.de.
